The world’s most delicious kale crisps

Need something delicious and nourishing to snack on? These dehydrated kale crisps will not disappoint!

A dehydration machine they are guaranteed to turn out terrific – if you have an oven you’ll need to feel comfortable with having the oven on for 15-17 hours on a low heat (55 degrees Celsius)

You will need a large bunch or bag of kale. Make sure the kale has been pulled into small pieces about the size of your palm or smaller, with the stems mostly removed.

Wash the kale well, put into a bowl.

You’ll need

  1. 1 1/2 cup cashews

  2. 1 cup water

  3. 1/2 tsp salt

  4. the juice of 1 lemon

  5. 1/4 cup nutritional yeast (optional)

Put the above in a blender and blend until smooth. You can add any dried spices to the above, and also include sunflower seeds or any other nuts to the mix. but the above recipe is the base.

Once it is blended in a creamy thick liquid, add it to kale and rub in well. Lay flat on a baking sheet or your dehydrator.

If oven dehydrating, start with temperature about 100 degrees Celsius for 1 hour, then turn down to 55-75 degrees.

If using a machine, start temperature at 100/150 Celsius for first hour, then turn down between 55-75 for 10-12 hours.
